Advanced Industries Truck Equipment was created in 1979 by Don and Mary Whitehead. Don, originally from England, worked for a number of large and small companies before starting Advanced Industries.

The best known of these was Eastern Airlines where he served as an engineering draftsman. Mary, a native of New Jersey, drew on her vast experience to coordinate all “behind the scenes” activities of the company.

Together, they determined that the major downfall with most organizations was the lack of teamwork. This common failing of most firms led the husband/wife team to form and start their own business. Based on a mission toward team commitment, a one-bay operation was established in the fall of 1979.
